# Anita is often asked to play for the wedding ceremony at a church and then to play for the reception at a different location. Anita will then have to load the harp and drive to the next location, thus setting up for a second time! If the harp is to be carried up a long, winding flight of stairs etc. then please inform Anita if assistance will be available.
Music Chosen for the Wedding
Tailor-make your own Wedding by choosing from the repertoire list. Anita is also open to any special requests or suggestions, so long as they can be suitably adapted for the Harp. Church weddings mainly incorporate the Organ (or any other dominant instrument/s) for the Entrance and Exit music. Civil Ceremonies - Please note that it is forbidden to play any religious music.
Church Ceremony
- A selection of incidental music played for the guests as they arrive at church (Prelude music).
- Music during the signing of the register.
- Optional Entrance music if requested as an alternative to the organ.
Civil Ceremony
- A selection of incidental music played for the guests as they are seated for the Ceremony (Prelude music).
- Entrance music for the bride.
- Music during the signing of the register.
- Music for the bride, groom and guests to leave the room.
- Other harp solos could be played during the Ceremony if requested.
Drinks Reception
- To play for the duration of the drinks reception until the wedding party moves into the wedding breakfast. Times are not stipulated as many factors can alter the timings of the reception (including weather, photographers, venue itself) - some take longer than others, for which Anita will play for the duration.
- If the drinks reception is to be outside (weather permitting) then suitable flooring (eg. a solid clean, level surface) and covering will be needed as the harp is not insured for “climate conditions”. Please ask for further advice on this.
Wedding Breakfast
- To play during the breakfast (including suitable breaks) from the line-up to the coffee/speeches. (Please state if you are having speeches before hand).
- Parties of 100 + people may need amplification - please state if this is the case.
The music played during the drinks reception/wedding breakfast will cover a broad range of styles - Classical, Traditional, Films, Shows, Musicals, Jazz and Modern Songs & Standards. Wherever possible Anita will try and include any requests (suitable for harp) from the Bride & Groom and also any of the guests.
Attire
Depending on your colour scheme, Anita will do her best to co-ordinate.
