Charlotte Aslin, Soprano

Born in North Yorkshire, Charlotte started singing at the age of 10 with Zuilmah Hopkins in Great Ayton.

She studied singing at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama with Theresa Goble.

Her roles include: Kate Pirates of Penzance (Carl Rosa Opera - as part of the Buxton Festival), Young Heidi Follies, Lady Thiang King and I (Stockton Stage Society - Billingham Forum Theatre) and Cherubino Marriage of Figaro (Cleveland Youth Opera). Other performances include: Hugh the Drover (English Touring Opera), Missa Solemnis (Sir Coin Davis, GSMD)La Clamenza Di Tito, Carmellites (Ardingly International Music School), Rigoletto (InterOpera),Carmen, La Traviata, Madam Butterfly, Dido and Aeneas (Cleveland Youth Opera), Whistle Down the Wind , The Mikado, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers(Middlesbrough Theatre), Bye Bye Birdie, Fiddler on the Roof (North Ormesby Minstrels), Oliver, Oklahoma, Anything Goes and Annie Get your Gun (Billingham Forum Theatre).

Charlotte has also sung as soloist with numerous choirs and her extensive concert and recital repertoire varies from Handel to Lloyd Webber.

Television credits include: North East Tonight (Tyne Tees Television, April 2000).

Since leaving college, Charlotte has had tuition from Margaret MacDonald, John Huw Davies (Masterclass), Jeff Lawton (Royal Northern College of Music) and Llyndal Trotman. Her current teacher is Lynne Dawson.

Charlotte also performs with her sister, Anita (Harpist), at various engagements and as a duo (Singing Strings) they have entertained many audiences where guests have included; the late Willie Madren and The Right Honourable William Hague.
